Linen Vest & Skirt💛

Image
This is a fabulous vest pattern that are button-up both in front and back :) I chose to make it in linen, and had enough fabric for a skirt as well. The vest has inserts both in front and back, so that was the first I started sewing. I stitched the side together, and also the facing for the opening. This is how it looks like withouth the lining.  I have used poplin as lining, and I had to make a lot of notches around the armholes. I have turned one side of the vest after I have stitched the lining, only the hem is left. I left an opening at the side seam, and then I could turn the vest  after stitching the hem to the lining. The vest is finished, only the buttons are missing. The BurdaStyle pattern is from the 90's.  I wanted to make a linen skirt as well. I have made a  Tulip Skirt  of the same pattern earlier. I stitched the inserts, and the front panels together.  Then I stitched the back panels together. I stitched the lining in place,  before I stitched the invisible zipper at

Shirt for a Super Boy 💙

I found some printed denim fabric in my stash and thought it would be geat for a shirt. I have combined the denim with jersey that was a perfect match.  The pattern pieces are cut out, and the facing for the front is included in the pattern. Since I have used jersey for the pocket,  I needed to pin it very carefully so it would stay in place. I think I manage very well. The yok is fasten to the back part and the shoulder seam is stitched. The collar is stitched together.  - and stitched in place. I hand-stitched the collar in place on the inside. The shirt has slits at the side-hem. He wss happy with his shirt and was wearing it right away :) Ottobre Kids fashion

Denim Jacket! 💙

Image
This is a pattern I was curious to try when I first saw it in BurdaStyle for September. I have always wanted to make a denim jacket, and the sleeve makes it very unique! The skirt is from an earlier post:  Think Pink  💗 As you can see, the sleeves is rather cool :) I stitched the inserts for the front parts. Then I had to stitch the shoulder and the side-seams together. The pocket flaps is top-stitched and button holes in place. I stitched the button-lists, the facing and the hem in place. The collar and the button-holes are made. Then I stitched the sleeves together, and made the opening for the cuffs. I top-stitched the seams before stitching the sleeves together. Then the sleeves are stitched in place. I'm Super Happy how the jacket turned out 😄 I used patent buttons for the jacket. BurdaStyle pattern #111 09/2024
