Boy's Shirt for Summer holiday! 🌞

Image
It makes me Happy when the kids love the clothes that I make 😍 I had a piece left of denim jersey and some small pieces of the checked fabric. This is left overs from a  Dress I made  earlier. At first I had to stitched the facing for the front panels and the left side pocket. The pleats at the back are layed in the right direction, and the back-yoke is stitched in place. I stitched an inner yok as well. The short sleeves are stitched together and the sleeve hem is stitched. I made the collar and the collarstand, and stitched on top of the facing. The sleeves where stitched in place and the hem. BurdaStyle Kids 1/24

Refashion Shirt = Blouse-jacket!

Image
This is Crazy, but I had to try something new! I found a shirt in my husbands closet that he didn't use so much... 😉 I wanted to make a blouse jacket and found a pattern in BurdaStyle 05/2019. It's specially the sleeves I like very much. I have used the sleeve pattern for this  Shirt Dress  as well. I had to cut the front and back part of the blouse up-side-down of the shirt. The sleeves is made of a bed-sheet I bought for a Toga-Party :) Burdastyle 05/2019

Jacket with Fringes!

Image
This was quite an adventure for me! I knew that I wanted to sew a jacket of the boucle fabric. I found the right pattern I wanted to use in BurdaStyle issue 02/2013. I put the pattern and the fabric in a closet, and then I forgot it until now...! I have tried to match the fabric at the seams. I read in the instruction that I could make my own fringes,  but it was different from last time I made fringes. This time I should use a double layer and sew it to the jacket  after the jacket was finished, even with the lining!  Since I had already made the fringes I did sew them around the whole jacket. Anyway, I made the fringes for the pockets and around the sleeve hem as in the instruction. I have also used a soft brush and steamed the fringes so they should be more fuzzy. I have to tell that I'm really Happy how it turned out at the end!  The wool-jersey skirt is from an earlier project . I have inserted "fish-shoulder pads" I have used "invisible" snap-buttons. Checked Skirt !

Image
Even though I made a Checked Skirt  as a Christmas present for Sara 💕  I liked this fabric so much that I had to make another for my self 😊 For this skirt, I have used the same pattern as I did for the  Wool Skirt , which I like very much! But still it was a challenge to fit the checked fabric at the seams, and especially since I cut the fabric on bias. Anyway, I'm very happy how it turned out 😉   Skirt in progress..
