Ellen's Sewing Passion

  This is a great dress to use at the office! I have used quilted sweatshirt fabric that are very warm. I had to cheer the dress up with a scarf since I love colors :)  I also made a  Casual Wool dress  of the same pattern. At first I wanted to make a round neck, but at the end  I decided to make a V-neck as in the instruction. I found a nice poly-satin in my stash that was perfect for the inner pockets. At first, I stitched very closely to the seam,  and then I top-stitched the pocket. Then the other layer of the pocket is made of the same fabric. I made the facing for the neck, and I iron vliseline on the back side.  I hand-stitched around the facing so it should stay in place. The shoulders and the side seams are stitched together. Since the seam made with the serger are a bit thick, I cut a notch where the folded line for the hem is. Then it's alo easier to stitch with the cover-lock or a twin-needle. Cotton is delicious to wear in summertime ☼ I found this pattern in Ottobre magazine. The front panel are gathered in the middle. - and the back-panel as well. The dress has short sleeved with rubberband at the hem. The dress has an opening in the front neck with buttons. The short sleeves are gathered at the shoulders. I have used transparent buttons that I think is very nice. Ottobre fashion 02/12

  Printed jersey - that's what kids love to wear :) A T-shirt is great both for school and holiday! It's my choise of fabric, but I'm happy that the boys likes it 😉 Ottobre Kids #30 04/2021

I made a shirt with short sleeves for this Superboy. This is great for holiday and for a boat-trip :) All the parts are cut out, and I had to iron vliseline under one of the collar, and the button-stand. I have tried to match the pattern with the front pocket and at the front parts as well.  The shirt has only a collar without collar-stand, so it's easy to sew. I found some shirt-buttons that was a great match. The boy was very happy with his new shirt :) Ottobre pattern

  I love fabric with printed letters, and when I found this, I was sure that the boys would like it too :) I've made an easy T-shirt with black ribbed jersey around the neck. I also made a pair of jogging pats, and this is the first time I have tried this kind of pattern  with no seam in the middle. I thought it was nice to pop it up wiht an orange ribbon.
