Ellen's Sewing Passion

I made this flowery dress at the end of the summer and I love this beautiful viscose fabric🌺 I have tried the pattern once before when I made the Royal Copenhagen Dress and I like the style very much with the fluffy skirt and the neck-band. Last time I made the dress without sleeves, but this time I had enough fabric :) I started with stitching the front parts together. I stitched the inserts for the back panels. The shoulder- and the side seams are stitched together, and I also gathered the bottom of the front panels.  Then I stitched the tie around the neck, and stitched the facing around the neck. The waistband are stitched to the top. I stitched the flounces to the sleeves, and stitched the sleeves in place. I folded the pleats in place and gathered the skirt. To make the zipper match on both side, I cut notches where the zipper are going to meet.  The zipper are in place, and I hand-stitched the hem. I had a bit fabric left of this wonderful flower viscose after I made a Dress for my Friend 💗 It was exatly enough to make a litte top without sleeves. The top is based on BurdaStyle pattern 04/2016, and I have used it several times before. This is one of them:  Top with pleats At first, I stitched the exposed pleats. Then I had to iron them in place.   The shoulders are stitched together. The bias are stitched around the arm-holes. I stitched a seam close to the seamline before stitching on top of the sleeve-holes. Then I stitched the facing around the neck. I had to make a seam at the back in lack of fabric.. With the golden trees and snow white deers Sara looks wonderful in her new dress.  It has small pleats at the shoulders but I omitted the pleats at the waist of the skirt. I won the fabric in a sewing competition :)

I was curious about this pattern, and I knew I had to find a fabric with two good sides. It was recommended cotton jersey, but I chose to use stretch satin. I also appliqued some butterflies since I'm a butterfly-Lover :) I like how it turned out and the style is great. Knotted Blouse 08/2016 #125
