Ellen's Sewing Passion

This is a pattern I have tried before, but I think it's very nice for a girl. I have cut all the parts in linen fabric, and the ribbon for the neck is cut on bias. At first, I stitched the shoulders- and the side-seams together. Then I stitched the front pocket in place. Then I stitched the ribbon around the neck and the arm-holes. I bought some nice striped fabric at  Skipper Stoffer in Copenhagen,  and wanted to surprice this little girl with a new top :) I found a pattern in Ottobre kids magazine with square neck. I used ribbed jersey around the neck and the short sleeves. Ottobre pattern 07/2021

Stripes could be a challenge for sewing a dress,  but since these stripes are diagonal it was no problem to match. I bought this lovely cotton fabric at  Stoffdronning.no The dress has buttonlist at the front. The flounce is very long, and it is pleated instead of gathered. The side seams are stitched,  - and then the pleated flounce. I made the collar for the dress. I change the cap-sleeves with a little bit longer sleeves  that are gathered at the shoulders. At the end, I stitched the channel for the waistband in place. BurdaStyle 03/2007

I bought this sparkling jersey in Copenhagen! I thought it would be a great choice for a young girl. I had to stitch the sides together before the hem. I have used vliseline for the facing. The hem for the cap-sleeves are stitched as well. I stitched the seam at the front, and stitched the edges to each side for the draw-string. Then I stithced the facing in place, and top-stitched around the square neck before stitching the cap-sleeves in place. She loves jumping on the trampoline :) BurdaStyle #125 05/2024

  If someone asks me what my favorite pattern is, I will definitive answer this blouse pattern! I have used the pattern over and over again, and here is one of  My Version This time, I wanted to make the sleeves different, so I have cut wide cuffs so I can fold it up, and the sleeves will be shorter than normal. At first, I stitched the hem to the inside before stitching the side seams together. The pleats at the back are folded, and both, the outer and the inner yok are stitched in place. The collar is stitched to the collar-stand. I made the slits for the opening at the sleeve-hem. The collar and sleeves are stitched in place. I found this nice and shiny buttons in my stash :) It's easy to see the low-hi hem of the blouse when liftening the sleeve. BurdaStyle #111 02/2020
