Ellen's Sewing Passion

This is another challenge I made for the TR course that I attended on the web  hosted by Shingo Sato. I couldn't leave the front panel in a drawer, so I decided to make a dress. This is the same pattern as I used to make the  TR Dress with Stripes This is how the finished challenge should look like. I decided to to adjust the neck and the arm holes.  I inserted one of my embroidery that I have made on the sewing machine on the back ♪♫ The short sleeves are stitched on the top  and I have inserted rubberband at the shoulders. I have also inserted rubberband at the sleeve hem and inserted an invisible zipper  at the left side, and gathered the first ruffle.

It's great to make an embroidery at the back of a dress like this! The dress is made of linen and that makes it nice to wear on a sunny day 🌞 I have used piping around the sleeves and the back part. I had to wash the piping before sewing the it to the white linen fabric. The embroidery is sewn on the linen fabric before I made the pattern piece.   BurdaStyle pattern #121 07/2015

My lovely model Sara in a pink flower dress!🌸🌸🌸 You have to take a closer look for this fabulous embroidered fabric! I bought it online from Alfatex  a while ago. I have combined the cotton fabric with a light jersey for the upper part. The skirt is gathered at the waist so it's fluffy to wear for summertime🌞
