Ellen's Sewing Passion

  I fell in love with this pattern from BurdaStyle September magazine! The very long sleeve makes this dress spesial :)  - and the fabric I found in my stash was a great choise! I found a nice satin fabric in my stash that I think are great for this project. At first, I stitched the bust darts. Then I stitched the shoulder, and the side seams. I made the cuffs for the sleeves and neck-band. Then I stitched the neck-band in place. I folded the pleats for the sleeves and stitched around the slits opening. I hand-stitched on the inner seam of the cuffs. Then the sleeves are stitched together with the dress. The sleeves look a bit funny when you look at the dress. I made rouleau loops for the buttons at the neck. BurdaStyle #108 09/2025

  I bought some nice quilted sweatshirt fabric and thought it would be nice for a sweater. I found a BurdaStyle pattern from 2022 that I wanted to try. I like esesially the wide sleeves. At first, I stitched the zipper at the back, and stitched the panels together.  I shorten the zipper as you can see on the picture. The shoulder seams are stitched, and the facing around the neck. Then I made the cuffs and gathered the sleeve hem to the same wide. Then I stitched the cuffs in a double layer for the sleeve hem. The side seams are stitched, and the sleeves are attatched. The sweater was a great match for my dress that is made of the same fabric. The shoulders are very low for the sweater. BurdaStyle 11/2022

This is my favourite color for the time beeing! 💙 - and I love this pattern as well! I have made it several times and it's just fabulous! The gathered sleeves, both at the shoulders and for the cuffs, makes it very interesting. I have used wool fabric, so I have used it a lot lately. I have made  another version  with flower fabric earlier.   I have used BurdaStyle pattern #112 10/2021 I started with the shoulder and side seams before adding the turtle neck and sleeves.   This fabric are just amazing because both sides are flowerful and you can choose what side you like to show. This time I use the fabric upposite from the dress I made earlier. I bought the fabric at  Lysthuset.no  and they have a lot of nice fabric. It's an easy top with long sleeves, and I made double cuffs for the sleeves. I have used BurdaStyle pattern #111 10/2021 as basic. I have only made ordinary sleeves since I didn't have more fabric. Our grandchildren loves to play with my fabric 😁
