Ellen's Sewing Passion

I got a lovely scarf from my friend and she said: "Maybe you can make something of this". Since it was rather big, I managed to squees out a whole dress!   I had to try to get the pattern to match when cutting the parts. I stithed the shoulders and the side seam for the top. Then I stitched the side seams for the skirt. I iron vliseline for the collar-stand and the outer part of the sleeve cuffs. The collar is stitched in place. - and I made button holes in front. I made flounces as a finish for the sleeve-cuffs. This is how it looks like. - and I attatched the sleeve-cuffs, and stitched the sleeves to the top of the dress. I think I manage very well to match the pattern for the scarf :) This is the lovely view from our cottage ☼ Nähtrends pattern 02/2024 

I bought this lovely wool jersey at  Lille-L.no    The fabric has two good sides with different colors. Therefore I chose to sew a reversible jacket. I found the pattern at BurdaStyle and it has a scarf that is twisted and looks very nice on  when the scarf is around the neck ofcourse 😅 The jacket is pink on the right side and orange on the reversible side. I have made a "flat-seam" for the shoulders, sides and sleeves. This is how long the scarf is before it's turned around the neck. I have turned the edge twice and stitched nicely. I have cut the binding for the sleeve hem 4 cm wide. This is how the jacket looks like when both of the colors shows. These photos are shown plain colros. - and the back. My lovely model and singing Star Torhild ♪♫ The skirt is made of a wool sweater turned up-side-down with a rubberband at the waist. The  Refashion Top  is from an earlier project.  The yellow sleeves have been used to make  Another Dress  💛 These are the garments I have used to make the twin-set. Very simle, but stylish 💫 Torhild on the Catwalk 😉

  I found another colorful scarf in my husband's wardrobe when I was cleaning up  to give away clothes for a charity organisation.  Since it was a wool scarf I thought it could be nice together with an old wool pants I had. I ripped up the inner seam of the pants and turned it, so it could be a skirt instead. I made pleats for the scarf and sew it as a finish for the skirt hem.  The idea was to make a dress, but since I could use the rubber-band of the pants I kept the skirt and made a top to match it insted. The grey wool jacket was a good match together with the blue top I had left from my husband's sweater from an earlier project.  I only used the middle of the jacket and turned it back-forward.  The sleeves are made of the bottom of the wool pants. The cuffs for the sleeves are from a pair of socks I had taken care of. When the socks are full of holes you have to get rid of them at the end.  Then it's a good idea to take care of the upper-part.
