Stripes on bias!

Image
Stripes could be a challenge for sewing a dress,  but since these stripes are diagonal it was no problem to match. I bought this lovely cotton fabric at  Stoffdronning.no The dress has buttonlist at the front. The flounce is very long, and it is pleated instead of gathered. The side seams are stitched,  - and then the pleated flounce. I made the collar for the dress. I change the cap-sleeves with a little bit longer sleeves  that are gathered at the shoulders. At the end, I stitched the channel for the waistband in place. BurdaStyle 03/2007

Girls Blouse with Waves 🪡

Image
I had some fabric left after I made my Dress with Waves and it was exactly enough to make this blouse for a Cute girl :) I have cut all the pieces. At first, I had to make the flounces for the top. I have stitched them to the front and back panels, and then stitched the side panels together.  Then I stitched a double bias around the neck and turn it to the inside. I gathered the flounce for the top and stitched it in place. The sleeves are gathered and stitched together, and I have used a rubberband at the sleeve hem cuffs. I have used an invisible zipper at the back. Ottobre kids pattern 1/2024

Denim Dress with flounces!

Image
I fell in love with this pattern, and wanted to make the dress for a birthday girl💖 I have used denim linen that are very soft an delicious to wear. I stitched the pockets for the front parts first. Then the front parts are stitched together, and also top-stitched. The zipper is stitched in place at the back seam. The flounces are stitched at the top of the shoulders, and I made to layers of flounces. Then I had to make the facing for the upper part. The facing are stitched around the arm-holes and around the neck. Then the side seams are stitched, and the dress is finished :) She is a Cutie and loves to play 😊 The hem for the flounces are stitched with narrow zig-zag. Ottobre kids 01/2024

Japanese Blouse-dress!

Image
I love to wear - and sewing with linen! This is a pattern I found in a Japanese style book  that I bought when I were visiting Japan a while ago. I have stitched the short sleeves together and stitched the hem. There's gonna be a buttonlist at the front. On the left side it's gonna be two gathered flounce. Both flouces are stitched in place. Then the double button list are stitched first to the wrong side and then turned to the front and topstitched. The collar are stitched to the outside, and then to the inside. The short sleeves are gathered at the top and stitched in place. The Blouse-dress is finished! I found some nice buttons in my stash! It is quite hare to understand the instructions, so I try my best without reading it :)
