Ellen's Sewing Passion

This is a pattern I have made over and over again because it's so interesting,  but I think it's even better in a plain color. You can see my  Music blouse  I made earlier. I have cut all the parts from of micro satin that is very soft. I started with makeing the pleats for the front panels, and stitch the upper to the lower panel. I made the button list for both sides. The collar is stitche to the collar stand. The collar is attached to the blouse. The sleeve is rather cool,  - and it's gather at the sleeve band. The blouse is finished, but need some buttons :)  I paired the blouse with my Linen Pants BurdaStyle #105 04/2018

  I fell in love with this pattern from BurdaStyle September magazine! The very long sleeve makes this dress spesial :)  - and the fabric I found in my stash was a great choise! I found a nice satin fabric in my stash that I think are great for this project. At first, I stitched the bust darts. Then I stitched the shoulder, and the side seams. I made the cuffs for the sleeves and neck-band. Then I stitched the neck-band in place. I folded the pleats for the sleeves and stitched around the slits opening. I hand-stitched on the inner seam of the cuffs. Then the sleeves are stitched together with the dress. The sleeves look a bit funny when you look at the dress. I made rouleau loops for the buttons at the neck. BurdaStyle #108 09/2025

It's not summer yet, but I had to share this super nice summer dress 💜 The dress is gathered at the front and I have sewn a piece of ribbon on top of the gathering. The shoulder straps are also made of ribbon. I have used a satin fabric, but I think it can work well with a heavy jersey as well. BurdaStyle pattern #117 05/2008

This is a beautiful fabric that I couldn't waste. Tiny small parts that I've sewn together to make this little top. I found the pattern in my "pattern library" so it's from Burda Special summer 2000. The princess seams are sewn on the front panel at first. Then the darts and the zipper at the neck of the back panel. All the bindings are sewn before the side seams. The top is finished, but I'm going to add a piece of double satin at the hem. The satin parts have splits at the side seams.
