Spanish Flower Dress!

Image
I found this pattern in a Patrones magazine, and though it looked very interesting, but it was quite a challenge! At first, I made the pleats in front. Then the facing for the neck.  I stitched the front part to the pleats, and the facing in place. I made a little opening for the sleeve hem for the rubber band. Then I need to make hole for the lace. Dress with Pleats & Lace Sleeves 💙

Image
This is one of my favorite color! As it says in BurdaStyle: Sophisticated and clean. The dress has darts at the back and deep pleats stitched in place at the waist. I chose to use "diamond" buttons as decoration on the pleats. Since I had a piece of lace fabric with the same royal blue color  I decided to make lace sleeves.   BurdaStyle 03/5021

Dress with Lace sleeves!

My lovely Niece is wearing her new dress 😍 I have to say that I just Love this pattern, and I have used it several times before. For instance the  Music Dress  I made for my good Friend earlier this year. I think it's very nice with the wide "angles" sleeves, and specially if you make them with lace fabric. The sleeves are cut like a curve, and since I wanted to keep the finish of the lace,  I have stitched the cutted parts on the curves very close to the edge again.  I have used heavy stretch jersey.  The pattern has a little dart at the back of the neck so it stays nicely. After sewing the invisible zipper I have stitched the facing around the neck. This is a scissors from Fiskars that are good to use to cut small notches around the seam of the neck. I have also stitch a seam very close to the seam line around the neck so the facing stays nicely. The dress is ready to stitch the sleeves on. I think my Niece looks very Happy with her dress  😄 Tina D...

Top with Lace Sleeves

I had a bit left both of the lace and the jersey fabric after I made a dress for my niece, and it was exactly enough for a top! I have used Simplicity pattern which I have tried once before . The gathering at the front is very nice, but I also like the raglan shoulders. I have use bindings of the same jersey around the neck and sleeve hem.      Simplicity magazine 32/2019

Denim with Roses!

Image
My Happy and good Friend Torunn 😍 This dress is made of the same pattern as I used for the  Refashion Dress I made my own version with inserting panels both in front and back. I found this fabulous denim with roses in St Petersburg. I have combined it with white bi-stretch, and cotton lace for the sleeves. I started with sewing the panels together, and the zipper in place before sewing the front and back panels together. The facing for the neckline has to be in place before sewing the side seams.   Since the sleeves are curved I had to cut of a part,  and then sew it together again for keeping the lace finish.  You can see the finish wide of the sleeves.
