Denim Vest with Top-Stitching!

Image
I wanted to make another vest after I made the  White Linen vest  and pants :) I think it's very nice with white top stitching for denim.  I was lucky to have enough fabric left of this soft denim fabric  as I used for my  Wrap Dress with Collar At first, I made the princess seams in front, - and then at the back. I iron vliseline of all the facings, and then stitched it in place. Then I top-stitched around all the edges, - and made button holes. I found some nice denim buttons in my stash that I like very much. I have used Marfy pattern #3247, - but BurdaStyle pattern from magazine 11/2025 is very similar.

Linen fabric is perfect for making pants and vest :) I have used linen with heavy structure, and the garment keeps the shape.  I had to cut all the parts, so I was sure to have enough fabric. The front and back panels are stitched together. I made facing around the front edge and also for the hem of the vest. I have used double layer of soft cotton around the arm holes, and top-stitched. I made button holes and stitched the buttons in place. I also top-stitched around the neck, front-line and hem. I have used Marfy pattern #3247 It's nearly the same as BurdaStyle pattern #120 11/25 As you can see, the pants are very wide, but that's what I like :) I made different pockets for the pants, and therefore I had to change  the pleats in another direction than it shows in the instruction. I tried to show how wide the legs are.. I'm very happy with the result :) BurdaStyle 04/2015 I was wearing my new outfit at "Sildajazz" in my home town Haugesund, together with my lovel...

Linen Vest & wide Pants! 🧡🧡🧡

At first, I wanted to make a jumpsuit, but after I cut out the pieces I decided to make a vest and pants insted, so I had to make some adjustments, espesially for the pants. I bought this fabulous linen fabric at Abby's Tekstiler I stitched the shoulderes- and side seams together, and then the facing around the neck and front parts. I used double bias of the fabric and stitched around the arm holes. I had to make a facing for the hem of the vest as well. Then I stitched the pockets in place for the pants.   I also stitched the inserts for the back panels. I made straps and double waistline for the pants. I decided to use a zipper in front instead of buttons as in the pattern. I'm very Happy how the outfit turned out ! :) I bought the lovely buttons in Tokyo when visiting Japan :) BurdaStyle #110 05/2026
