Ellen's Sewing Passion

This is a lovely top I had from my mum💗 I have just made a wider neck, some pleats in front and added a waistband. I made an easy skirt to fit with the top with darts at the back, and then it's a New dress!

If you just want to cheer up a garment this is a very easy way to do it! I have used a T-shirt and a dress. The sleeves of the dress was a perfect match for the stone-washed T-shirt, and the skirt were turned back-forward, and voila the dress is new 👗 As a decoration for the waist I have used a cord with taps. I used the upper part of the dress for the  Refashion with Zipper

I still love playing with garments and make refashion dresses! 👗 This dress is made of a combination of a jersey dress,  a long jacket and details from the blue sweater. As a little detail I made blue short sleeves over the red sleeves from the jacket. The blue waistband is from the sweater as well. Sine the long jacket had pocket I wanted to use this as the front part, and decided to add a blue zipper up-side-down. The back of the dress is eye-catching! 👀😅

Curves is the way of nature, and it feels soft and natural, that's why I like waves 🌊 Here I'm together with the host for a local mannequin show I had at Jelsa. I had these two lovely knitted wool sweaters, and cut them as shown on the picture. Then they fitted well together, both for the front and the back. I stitched the upper parts to the lower parts before sewing the waves together. I carefully stitched the waves with normal stitches and "feeding" the sewing maskin with pushing  the knitted fabric so it wouldn't stretch, and I used the overlock maskin afterwords. It was perfect to use the red sleeve for the red-side and the blue sleeve for the blue-side.  Of course, the nice thing about refashion is that you don't have to do the hemming 😊 I made a braided belt as decoration. This picture is taken on a local mannequin show at Sandeid Husflidslag.  This is absolutely one of my favorite refashion dresses! First of all: I love animal print!😍 - and Cerise and Red! 💕 As you can see, I have used one of my favorite jacket together with  my husbands sweater... The sleeves are turned up-side-down and I made a draw-string at the hem. I have used ribbon-jersey from another top for the waistline. - so it's a very easy project 😊 

This is my contribution for the Premier Dress Challenge for Christine Hope.  She is the host for the Norwegian Seeing Bee this year as well - and I love her 💖 I thought a Fresh Lady like her needed something special with a "touch of fun" With focus on "green environment" I have tried to make a refashion dress for her  from an old tunic and a top, and with curtain tassels as decoration for the belt.   "Dress Crises!" She is so sad because she don't have a dress to wear for the Premier 😒 I thought this tunic would be a great skirt for a dress for her! and the top would be nice together. I cut the tunic into a good shape for the skirt. The belt is petersham ribbon with tassels which you normally use for curtains decoration.     I had to use a color to cheer up the black top, so I have use turquoise piping.    Christine's last name is on a big button at the back!
