Ellen's Sewing Passion

This is a pattern I have tried once before  when I attended a  Member Model Challenge  hosted by BurdaStyle. I like the special finish for the arm holes. I found this lovely cotton fabric at  Stoffdronning.no   I stitched the darts in place at the back, but not in front yet. The sides are stitched together. Then the double layer of fabric are stitched to the sides. - and then stitched to the top.  I have neaten the piping in place, Then I stitched the facing around the neck and the arm holes. I stitched the side pockets to the skirt, and stitched an underseam for the front pockets. Then I stitched the to together with the skirt, and made an invicible zipper at the back, and hand-stitched the hem in place.  BurdaStyle #101 06/2018

I was lucky to have exactly enought fabric to make a skirt after I made the jacket. This is a skirt pattern that I really like, and have used it over and over again,  like the  Yellow Skirt with Black piping The skirt has pleats in front and nice pockets. I have used the same piping for the waistband as for the jacket sleeves. The Chiffon Blouse is from an earlier project. The zipper is on the left side. I've had this lovely jacquard fabric in my stash for a while,  and I found the right time to make a summer jacket 🌞 I found the pattern in BurdaStyle 07/22 and I think it's an elegant style  with flounces and piping at the sleeves. I started with sewing the inserts, and the pockets.  Pocets are in place, and the sleeves to come. I chose to use silver piping at the sleeve flounce. I made the flounce double, so it will stay very nicely. I chose to use yellow micro satin for the lining. Jacket is finished and I'm looking forward to wear it 🌸 BurdaStyle pattern #118 07/22
