Ellen's Sewing Passion

I wanted to make a new dress to wear at the office, and I thought this pattern was a great choice. I found the fabric at  Lysthuset.no  and it's cotton with some stretch. It's a pattern that I have tried once before when I made a  V-Neck Blouse , but this time I wanted to make a dress. I started with the insert for the V-neck in front. After stitching the sides, I gathered the bottom. The sleeves are rather wide, and gathered before connected to the cuffs. It's not so easy to see the result of the gathered neck,  but I'm satisfired with how it turned out. BurdaStyle 03/2021

I found this wool fabric in my stash, and I know I have made a similar top earlier,  but this is given away, so I decided to make a new one. It's based on the pattern from my ribbed wool dress, but I have change the sleeves. I have used a ribbon at the shoulder seams so it stays in place. It was exactly enough fabric to make a double layer around the neck. In lack of fabric I hade to cut a small piece to connect to the sleeves, but since it's on the back of the sleeve, it doesn't show. I was very lucky that the stripes matched at the armholes. There was a lot of snow when we took the pictures! The top is based on BurdaStyle pattern #111 10/2021

This is a pattern I have tried before when I made another  Ribbed Wool Dress ,  but this time I wanted to make the dress without gathering shoulders. Also this time, I made a Midi-Dress. I have cut the sleeve with gathering only where the cuffs are connected. I have used ribbon at the shoulder seam, and vlieseline around the armholes. The neck are made of double layer of fabric. I made the cuffs with double layer. BurdaStyle #111 10/2021

I have made several garments with this pattern,  and I can't get enough of the square neck :) This is a Dress with exposed zipper that I made earlier.  The parts are cut, and the sleeves are 3/4 long. The shoulder-strips are folded and stitched excatly to the line  where the folding for the facing is. Both strips are stitched in place before sewing the side seams. The fabric I have used is a blend of polycotton stretcg jacquard.   I have fasten the seam for the neck-facing very nicely on the wrong side. BurdaStyle pattern #108 06/2021

  I made a sweater of the last piece of fabric that I had left after I made  my  Reversible Wool Jacket , and I was wearing the set when I met my sisters :) Alle the parts are cut, and I decided to use the red flowers as the right side of the fabric. I stitched the double shoulders straps to the front and back part before stitching the side-seams. I hand-stitched the facing in place.  The sleeves are stitched to the top, and I prefer long sleeves for this time of year. I had to make cuff for the sleeves to make them long enough.
