Dress with Ruffles & Scissors!

Image
I showed my granddaughter two different fabric, and asked if she want to have a dress  of this or a plain blue linen fabric, and she chose the one with the scissors. I made the slits in the middle and stitched the side seams. The sleeves where stitched together, and then stitched to the top. The neck where gathering and I have used the same fabric on bias around the neck. The sleeves have rubber-band at the hem. The skirt is made of two gathered ruffles. She was very happy when she got the dress, and was wearing it on our holiday ☼ I have used 2 buttons as decoration, and a hook for the opening of the slit. Ottobre Kids fashion 3/2023

Japanese Top! 💗🖤🧡

Image
I found this fabuous chiffon in my stash! These are my favorite colors and I decided to make a top that I found in the Japanese Style book.  I stitched the bottom to the sleeve. The square part are stitched to the front and back, and then stitched to the sleeve. I have used linen as lining for the top. The neck are rather wide, but it's going to be gathered.  I have stitched two seams closed to each other. This is the sleeve- and the neck-ribbon made of linen. I stitched the ribbon in place, and the top is finished. I have top-stitched the ribbon for the sleeve-hem. Pattern from a Japanese Styling book.

Japanese Button-Up Dress!

This is another Japanese Dress pattern I was qurious to try! I had to cut all the parts on the floor since the dress was rather long. At first, I had to make the tunnel for the ribbon at the back,  and make two button holes for the drawstring. Then I stitched the princess seams both in front- and back panels. I stitched the side-pockets to the panels. I have gathered the front neck. I also stitched the facing for the neck and button-list in place.  The dress has pockets in the side seams. Then I stitched bias around the armholes and turned it to the inside. I stitched the side seams and the pockets together before I stitched the hem. The dress i rather wide without knotting the drawstring. Pattern from the Japanese Style book 2012.

Top with gathered neck-band!

After I made my Maxi Dress for a wedding , I had a bit left of this beautiful fabric 💕 I couldn't let it go, sÃ¥ I decided to make a top. I have used the pattern earlier when I made a  Blue-Flower Top .  The neckband is made of three layers, and gathered on the upper part  and stitched on top of the front neck-band.  Then the neck-band are stitched to the front- and the backpart. I have combined the front part with satin fabric. The shoulders and the side seams are stitched together. The facing for the neck-band are stitched in place. I have used three times rubber-band as a finish for the short sleeves. - and the top is finished! BurdaStyle pattern #108 02/2018
