Ellen's Sewing Passion

This is a pattern I have tried several times before, and I like it a lot! This time I wanted to make it in light wool, so it's very comfy to wear this time of year :) If you like, you can see  Another version  I made earlier. I gathered the front panel on both sides as in the instruction. The side panel are attached. I have iron vliseline for the facing around the neck. I stitched an inner-seam around the neck as well, so the facing should stay in place. This is how it looks like after the gathering. I made very long and double cuffs because that's what I like, spesially in wintertime. I'm very happy with the outcome💗 I used invisible rubberband on top of the gathering, so it will stay in place. I love to wear a cardigan over a dress or a top without sleeves. This is for sure a pattern I'm going to use over again! I have used wool jersey and it's very delicious to wear :) I like that the pattern is a bit curved. To make the shoulder stick in place, I use a special ribbon for jersey as shown, Another tip is to cut just a small jack at the seam and bend it over. Then the seam isn't so thick when top-stitching the hem. The collar is in place. I bought some nice buttons in Copenhagen that was great for the cardigan.   Everyone likes to wear wool clothes in wintertime! I have bought this fabulous Jacquardquality wool at  Janus.no   It's a blend of 80% merinowool and 20% polyamid. At first I made the top with long sleeves. Then I made the pants. The black one is made for another boy that are older. He got pants as well :) Both patterns are from Ottobre Kids fashion.

I love to wear wool this time of year!❄️   I had a bit fabric left after I made this  Wool Dress . The fabric is reversible, but I chose to use this side once again.  I was lucky to have enough fabric for a sweater with long sleeves. I cut a notch at the sleeve hem, so it doesn't get so thick when stitching the sleeve-hem. Since the neck is rather long, you can choose to use it this way,  - or use it double. The sweater is based on BurdaStyle #111 10/2021

I found this wool fabric in my stash, and I know I have made a similar top earlier,  but this is given away, so I decided to make a new one. It's based on the pattern from my ribbed wool dress, but I have change the sleeves. I have used a ribbon at the shoulder seams so it stays in place. It was exactly enough fabric to make a double layer around the neck. In lack of fabric I hade to cut a small piece to connect to the sleeves, but since it's on the back of the sleeve, it doesn't show. I was very lucky that the stripes matched at the armholes. There was a lot of snow when we took the pictures! The top is based on BurdaStyle pattern #111 10/2021
