Wool Top with Looong Sleeves!

Image
This is a pattern I have tried several times before, and I like it a lot! This time I wanted to make it in light wool, so it's very comfy to wear this time of year :) If you like, you can see  Another version  I made earlier. I gathered the front panel on both sides as in the instruction. The side panel are attached. I have iron vliseline for the facing around the neck. I stitched an inner-seam around the neck as well, so the facing should stay in place. This is how it looks like after the gathering. I made very long and double cuffs because that's what I like, spesially in wintertime. I'm very happy with the outcome💗 I used invisible rubberband on top of the gathering, so it will stay in place. Easy Dress for the Office :)

Image
This is a great dress to use at the office! I have used quilted sweatshirt fabric that are very warm. I had to cheer the dress up with a scarf since I love colors :)  I also made a  Casual Wool dress  of the same pattern. At first I wanted to make a round neck, but at the end  I decided to make a V-neck as in the instruction. I found a nice poly-satin in my stash that was perfect for the inner pockets. At first, I stitched very closely to the seam,  and then I top-stitched the pocket. Then the other layer of the pocket is made of the same fabric. I made the facing for the neck, and I iron vliseline on the back side.  I hand-stitched around the facing so it should stay in place. The shoulders and the side seams are stitched together. Since the seam made with the serger are a bit thick, I cut a notch where the folded line for the hem is. Then it's alo easier to stitch with the cover-lock or a twin-needle. The hem of the sleeves are stitched with a doub...

Maxi-dress for a Wedding 💞

Image
I wanted to make a new dress for my nephew's wedding 💖 I was lucky to find this beautiful silk blend in a local shop in Haugesund. I choose to use the same pattern as for the  Maxi Dress  I made earlier, BurdaStyle pattern #121 06/2019 that I love very much! I started with gathering the bust-pieces to fit the under layer. Then the layers are stitched together, and the draping are in place. I stitched the side seams,  and stitched the lining for the upper-part in place. The shoulders are stitched together, and also the front. The square short sleeves are overlocked and stitched to the inside all around, except for the part that are stitched to the dress. The upper part is finished, and the skirt is stitched to the top. I hand-stitched the lining to the inside of the waist.   The zipper is stitched at last.  I measured the circle of the skirt, and it was 425cm!
