Ellen's Sewing Passion

I was very happy with my first  Training Outfit , so I decided to make another one. This time I made a shorts instead of leggings.  The pattern is from BurdaStyle 07/23. The upper front is stritched together. I have stitched a seam close to the edge around the neck for the inner-layer. Both the front and the back are made of double layer. The upper-part is finished, - and stritched together with the lower part. BurdaStyle pattern #126 07/2023 I made a shorts as well.  BurdaStyle pattern #114 07/2023 - and a Top with short sleeves. I like to use leftovers, and this was exactly enough fabric to make a top! I had to make the back part in three pieces,  but since the fabric was with different pattern it didn't matter. I have used invisble 5mm elastic to gather the shoulders at the top of the seam. The pattern is from Ottobre magazine 2/12. Together with my lovely sister in law 🌸

This is a delicious top to wear on a sunny holiday ☼ I though the pattern was very interesting with the rubberband  on both side seams, and I like how it turned out. It's easy to make and I think it looks nice with the details.   I started with sewing the side seam and then the tunel to the elastic on each side of the seam.  Sometimes I cut a hack where the sleeve hem are folded so it's better to sew the hem. This is an easy Top to sew, but the bow of the sleeve hem makes it special :) The fit is very nice and I have made a Blue  top earlier. I have used a soft cotton jersey that are a bit transparent in the dark flowers.                 BurdsStyle pattern #119 07/2019

 Jersey is great for a top with pleated sleeves. The pattern is from BurdaStyle 02/21.  I usually like to have a wider neck, but this was not so bad anyway..   The neck-band is double and sewn with the over-lock machine. The pleats are sewn together and the pressed down in the middle. The sleeves is gathered at the top, and it gives a nice finish.  BurdaStyle pattern #103 02/2021
