Holiday Shorts 🧡

Image
Sometimes I have to use what is left of the fabric, and I was lucky since it was enough to make a shorts! The shorts has side pockets, and I have stitched a seam close to the inner seamline. I made three tunnels for the waist band,  so I have used both a drawstring and two pieces of rubberband. BurdaStyle pattern from 07/2023

Button-Up Dress!

Image
I bought this beautiful pastel fabric at  Rainbowfashion.no . It's a kind of linen blend. I thought it would be nice to make this button-up dress from BurdaStyle 03/2025.    I cut all the parts, and the sleeves are very wide wiht pleats at the shoulder. I made the upper part with the bust inserts. Then I stitched the skirt together with the top. I made the tunnel for the rubberband at the waist,  and also the rouleau for the button list. I stitched the facing around the neck and the button opening. The sleeves are pleated and then gathered at the shoulders,  - and rubberband at the sleeve hem. I hand-stitched the hem. Cardigan with collar!

Image
I love to wear a cardigan over a dress or a top without sleeves. This is for sure a pattern I'm going to use over again! I have used wool jersey and it's very delicious to wear :) I like that the pattern is a bit curved. To make the shoulder stick in place, I use a special ribbon for jersey as shown, Another tip is to cut just a small jack at the seam and bend it over. Then the seam isn't so thick when top-stitching the hem. The collar is in place. I bought some nice buttons in Copenhagen that was great for the cardigan. Denim Dress with flounces!

Image
I fell in love with this pattern, and wanted to make the dress for a birthday girl💖 I have used denim linen that are very soft an delicious to wear. I stitched the pockets for the front parts first. Then the front parts are stitched together, and also top-stitched. The zipper is stitched in place at the back seam. The flounces are stitched at the top of the shoulders, and I made to layers of flounces. Then I had to make the facing for the upper part. The facing are stitched around the arm-holes and around the neck. Then the side seams are stitched, and the dress is finished :) She is a Cutie and loves to play 😊 The hem for the flounces are stitched with narrow zig-zag. Ottobre kids 01/2024

Dress with Stripes!

Image
I wanted to buy a fabric with stripes for this pattern,  and my choise was this viscose with cross stripes.    The top and the gathered waist are cut in the right direction of the fabric, but the skirt had to be cut on bias. Therefor the skirt is different in front and back.  I made the double gathered waist first, and stitched it at the waistline. I had to do it for the backparts as well before stitching the zipper in place. This is how the front looks like. Then I stitched the shoulders and the side seams. The short sleeves are made of double layer, so it falls very nicely. I think it will be one of my favorite dresses this summer ☼ BurdaStyle #101 02/2025
