Ellen's Sewing Passion

I fell in love with this pattern from BurdaStyle 03/26. I wanted to make a similar colore as in the magazine,  and I bought satin fabric in a local fabric shop.  I cut all the pieces,  - and started with the inserted pockets. I stitched the shoulder and side seams. The pleats for the lower part of the sleeves are stitched together,  then folded in half and stitched to the inside. The sleeves and the collar are stitched in place. The zipper and buttons are stitched, and the jacket is finished! I have covered two of the upper buttons with the same fabric. I'm super Happy how the jacket turned out! :) The finish of the sleeves are very decorative and I like it a lot! BurdaStyle pattern #115 03/2026

This is a dress pattern with very deep armholes, so the sleeves are very wide  and therefore I had to cut them in a single layer of fabric.   The front- and back panels are cut in heavy jersey, and I used satin fabric for the sleeves. I stitched the shoulder- and the side seams. The fabric around the neck is just folded to the inside.  I stitched the sleeves together, and the sleeve hem. - and the dress is ready for a party :) BurdaStyle 09/2013

Our granddaughter found a dress pattern and asked if I could make a dress with an opening in front,  but after she tried the dress I had to close the opening in front :)  I hav used wrinkle satin for the upper part, and I used a rubberband at the front-hem. I have iron vliseline for the zipper at the back parts. The short sleves are stitched together before I stitched them to the top. I also made facing around the neck. The front for the skirt has rubberband as well. - and the dress is finished. I made a rubberband at the back so the dress should fit better. The dress is based on Ottobre kids pattern 03/2015.
