Ellen's Sewing Passion

I was wearing my new jumpsuit for the first time when I was together with my friends in town. We hadn't seen each other for a long time because of the Corona-virus, so it was nice to catch up again! The jumpsuit pattern is from BurdaStyle June issue  and I knew I had to make it when I saw it in the magazine! I have used linen fabric that I found in my stash.  Since the instruction was with pictures it was very easy to follow. I'm very happy with the outcome and maybe I have to make another one😊              Can you imagine that these pics where taken 11.30 in the night! I wanted to surprise my lovely friend on her birthday 🥂🍾 - and I made a satin top for her!   The top has a gathered neckline that makes it a little special. I think the colors suits her very well! I had to hand stitch the hem and sleeve hem to make it look nicely. This pattern are similar to my  Happy Colour Blouse  that I also like very much! This is the muslin I made before I was going to make my  Birthday Dress   I have used linen fabric so it was easy to iron the folds, but it was a bit soft so I had to stitch the folds in place. I couldn't leave the muslin and decided to make a top with peplum. Then I can use the top together with my fancy pants!

When I first saw this dress in the BurdaStyle magazine, I just thought: WOW! The voluminous puff sleeves are amazing! - and I like the swinging skirt!  My husband comment; "This is the one of the best dress you have made" 💕 I have used cotton fabric with some Lycra that I found in my stash. The dress is without lining. It's only the waistband that are double. The sleeves have rubber-band as a finish at the hem.  As you can see, the neckline is gathered all around.       BurdaStyle pattern #122 05/2020

It's a long time since I have tried to make a handbag, so now I found the right time to do it! 😊 I bought different cotton fabric at  Stoff og Stil  to use for handbags a while ago, so I found this fabric in my stash. I'm love turquoise and thought this was great to use for a handbag. This is a heavy weight cotton fabric, and for the lining I have used a normal cotton fabric. I have used a thick vliese for the lining as well. This pattern has side pockets on the outside that I think is really nice. The straps are sewn over the seams for the side-pockets, and it's great for decoration as well. The out side handbag is finished, and the lining has to come.. I like to have a little inner-pockets for my lipstick etc. and I wanted to have a zipper as well. The inner-pocket is finished and then I iron the thick vlies on top of it. I kept a small opening so it was easy to turn it after sewing it together with the out layer. I bought this handbag book when visiting Japan.  It's...
