Ellen's Sewing Passion

  I wanted to try a new version of the Fernbird dress pattern from The Sewing Revival 💙 I sew a dress in cotton fabric first and then draw the lines where I wanted. The thing is that you don't need to have som many seams at usual at the sides. It's a lot of pieces, but it's going to be nice at the end.. I start from the top, and sew one and one piece all around the dress. This is the back of the dress. As you can see, it's growing! This is my lovely model and good friend 💙 I have used stretch chiffon with sparkling for the flounces. For the neck I have used a double layer with chiffon and made pleats. This is a nice top that's feels good to wear! The short sleeve has a bow at the sleeve-hem that makes the top unique. I wanted to use the rest I had left of the colorful jersey with mexican-print. That's why I had to make a little seam at the back, and the bows are different, but that's just fine! I like the wide of the neck, and have used a double jersey as bias.  The wide Pants is from an earlier project. BurdaStyle pattern #119 07/2019

This Sweet girl loves Butterflies 🦋 She pointed out the fabric and said she wanted to have a blouse! Of course her "grandmother" had to make one! I found the pattern in Ottobre kids, and it's very easy to make. The blouse has rubberband at the sleeve-hem and around the neck. Ottobre pattern 03/2021.

Printed jersey with LEGO print is a great choise for a T-shirt! It's always nice to wear a T-shirt for playing!

This was a great challenge! I started with drawing triangles on the front part, cut them in a double layer and made them flary. Then I sew the triangles to the top. I made the drawings where the stripes should stay and cut the pattern apart. I started sewing one and one stripes at the time, and as it was "growing"  I could see the flared part coming through. The front part is finished, and you can open the flared part  and see the stripes underneath the triangles as well. I wanted to make a back-part to match the stripes for the front part as well. I have used a hi-low skirt pattern from BurdaStyle for the dress. Linen is a great choice of fabric. This is a combination of linen and viscose.
