Jersey Dress with Straps!

Image
I think my sister in law looks lovely in the dress I've made 💙  I have used the same pattern once before and made a  Satin Dress but I prefer a fabric with a bit stretch. The dress is made of jersey blend bought at  Alfatex.de . The dress is gathered under the bust, and I have used woven ribbon on top  of the gathering as a decoration, and the straps are made of the same ribbon. I have used the same pattern once before, but then I made it in satin.  I have to say that it's better in jersey because it's easier to move :)  BurdaStyle pattern #117 05.2008

Japanese Handbag :)

Image
I made a handbag as a gift when we had a Local Catwalk 😊 My model Christine is showing the bag to the audience before we had the raffle. I have used cotton fabric, and volum vliseline to make the bag steady. I chose checked cotton crepe as lining for the bag,  and I made a little pocket as well. . This is the wrong side turning out, and I stitched both the linging and the outside fabric together. I have used a magnetic push-button so it's easy to close and open the bag. The handels for the bag is made of leather that I bought in Copenhagen. I have stitched an outer seam to keep it steady. The patterns is from a book I bought when I had a trip to Japan :)

Blouse with Roses 🌹🌹🌹

This is a pattern that I love, and I can't get enough of it! I have used it over and over again, and if you like, you can see one of my version here. I found the lovely fabric at  Lysthuset.no. I bought the only one meter that was left in the shop, and I wish there was more! I was glad that I could squees out all the parts for the blouse of the fabric.  Since I didn't have enough fabric to make long sleeves, I just had to shorten them. I had to cut the inner collar stand in two pieces and sew it together.  I had to do the same for the inner yok. The hem is stitched before I stitched the princess seams. Then I attatched the collar to the blouse. I made cuffs for the sleeves a bit wide so I didn't need any opening. You can see the curve from the side, and that's what I love about this pattern. The hem is hi-low. BurdaStyle pattern #111 02/2020.

Chiffon dress for my Lovely Friend 💟

Image
I made this dress for my lovely friend 💖 We had a trip to Stavanger visiting a local shop  and she found this lovely chiffon fabric that she fell in love with,  and we bought every inches that was left :) She has chosen a pattern from BurdaStyle with high waist line. I made rouleau for the buttons in front. The facing for the neck is stitched on top of the lining. Then the long sleeves are stitched to the top. I have used rubber-band as a finish for the sleeve hem. Since I didn't have enough fabric to make a maxi dress,  I had to skip one of the gathered flounce.   The sleeves are without lining and that makes it more interesting. The sleeves are gathered by the shoulders. BurdaStyle pattern #102 04/2021

Maxi Dress for a Wedding ♥

Image
This is a pattern I have tried once before , and I love the style,  so I decided to make a new dress for a wedding. The dress code for the wedding was Colorful and Bold, so I found this wonderful fabric in a local shop in Stavanger.   I started with the front panel. They are going to overlap at the middle. I have gathered the panels at the shoulders and under the bust-parts. I have to cut the lining and I have used cotton voile that is very soft. I have used stabilizer-vliseline around the neck and arm-holes. The shoulder- and the side seams are sewn,  and the lining are stitched to the upper front and back part. The sleeves that are squared are attatched before stitching the front parts together. Then I attached the waistline around the uppe-part. Then I attatched the skirt to the dress. The skirt has 3 panels in front,  - and 4 panels at the back with an invisible zipper in the middle.  This is a short video. BurdaStyle pattern #121 06/2019 We attended a ...
