Japanese Dress with Gathering sleeves!
This dress pattern was quite a challenge!
All the parts are cut out of a nice linen fabric.
I started with stitching around the short sleeves.
I made the facing for the neck.
At first, I had to stitch the bust darts.
When I stitch the zipper in place, I stitch a little notch where the once side ended,
or if I have a seam at the waist to match, so it's easy to stitch the other side to the same point.
This is the first time I have tried to top stitched the short sleeves in place,
but I think I managed.
I use a double bias as a finish for the armholes and stithed it to the inside.
I also had to stitched the sleeves on top to the layer of the fabric.
This is the facing before I have stitched it around the neck.
I always cut a lttle notch at the middle, then it's easy to match the different parts.
The dress is finished - and I'm very happy with how it turned out!
